hairband obsession

My sister is very obsessed with hair accessories right now ...not for herself, but for her baby! She was the one who was adament that nobody should get her daughter anything in pink as she hates pink and considered it as too girlish ...i was warned very early on not to get Umang anything pink ...or not to get Umang anything with frills or any girlish accessories ....all the warning did not affect our judgement ...i bought Umang tonnes of pinkish rompers, and clothes ....my brother and SIL also did the same, we just ignore the mother's request (ON PURPOSE!!!) and my dad was the one who said that we should just ignore my sister's request :-)

that is why we were so surprised when my sister started buying hairbands and other hair accessories for dear Umang ...and not just one, or two pieces ...but A LOT! she even texted me to hint that if i were thinking of getting Umang some Christmas present, I may like to get some hair pieces to complement the dress ...shocking! a complete 360 degree change for someone who dislike pink and dislike girly outfit ....

my sister sent me the above photo for hints! LOL so I asked her why the change of heart. her answer is hilarious! She said she is treating Umang like her doll and she just love to doll her up ...hehehe and she said, Umang might not like being dolled up when she grows up, so now is her only chance to make her daughter looks pretty! Hilarious ...but dad said that, having a mother who is a tad tomboyish - dislike skirts, girlish outfit and hates pink - there is a slight chance that Umang may inherit that taste in the future ...

looking back when we grew up, I was always the one in skirts and dresses and proper girly shoes ...my sister was so into denims, shorts and t-shirt ....but people change kan .. and it is great to see Umang being dolled up hehehe i just love going shopping for her ..so many girly clothes to choose from ...christmas shopping this year should be more fun!

Oo.My.God!!! My little neice is turning out to be so cuteeeee ...and, chubby- of course! My sister sent pictures of her everyday ...for us to ooo and aaahhh over despite the distance .....

just 3 months old and already 6kg

My mom was busy over the weekend ...she was sewing Umang's patch blanket ...it is 80% done. My mom is very quick on the sewing machine ...and is planning on having another one made up for Umang to take back to KL as well .....and Al also asks my mom whether she is going to make one for him and adik ...so, of course my  mom was touched and said she will make them one each .....it is just that she'll have to figure out a different design for them :-)

I used to make patchwork blanket before ..if i am not mistaken i made 2 extra large ones ...when I was waiting for my SPM results ...I left one in Penang and I am not sure where the other one is now. Maybe at the cottage on one of the boxes ...I am thinking of making one blanket for myself, but I am too busy ...I dont ant to start something and left it hanging and unfinish ....

Umang is 3 months

yeayyyyy my little niece is 3 month old today....she has grown tremendously ...with porky legs and chubby cheeks hehehe

chubby to the max!

My parents' first granddaughter ...and they always talk about this chubby princess everyday ...they were miles apart ...but technology keeps them close ..my sister calls my parents everyday so that mum and dad can hear Umang's cries in the background etc ...and everyday there will be pictures of Umang sent to us via Whatsapp ....we miss her ...even al asks about Umang when he look at the photos - mama, why is Umang not here? that's the most frequent question ...and it will be followed by "Al want to geram Umang" ...his way of saying he want play with Umang ....

We all love you Mang ...and cannot wait to see you in December :-)In the meantime, happy 3 mth birthday sayang .... muahhhhhh xxx

Umang is 2 months old

Time really flies ...Umang turned two months old two days ago ....we left her when she was one month old ...how time flies ...and two days ago, her mommy started working again ..and Umang was sent to her babysitter's place (Makcik Ros) for the very first time ...

my sister was very anxious all day that day ...she said he cant wait to be home to have a cuddle with the baby. My dad and mom were also edgy all day - the thought of their only granddaughter being sent to a babysitter is not something that they like, but have to accept as that was the best available option ...so, they were quite relieved to hear my sister told them that Umang is ok ...just that she had to be sent to the sitter as early as 6.30am and picked up at 6.30pm, by either mummy or daddy - whoever reaches home first ....

anyway, Umang is much better now. Stll a bit collicky but always gets better once she is given the meds ...and her weight also increases ...my dad called her "tindoh" (i.e. ulat sagu) ...something similar to a carterpiller ...coz of her shape lol ....

Umang's Baptism

Two weeks ago Umang was baptised at St Mary's Cathederal in KL ...it was exactly 2 weeks after we left KL, so none of us was there ..my uncle suggested that Umang be baptised as soon as possible, and together with his new born grandaughter (who was 4 days older than Umang). My uncle arranges for everything - the forms, the godparents' list etc etc and my parents agreed with him ...

my parents are sad that they are not able to attend the service, but they felt that it should go ahead without them ...and they felt ok with it as they know my sister is not completely alone without any family member attending ...that's because my uncle (mom's step brother) and his family are all there to support my sister

my cousin Ana and her baby Gisele ...Gisele is 4 days older than Umang

and my other cousin, whom we called Girl, is Umang's God Mother ...and Jane and my borther are also Umang's God parents ...

looks like we wont be seeing Umang anytime soon - my sister found a babysitter who live in the same block of flats as hers and the person has agree to take care of Umang ....so, wait and see lah when we are going to see her next ....
