Weekend is here again - it is one of those time that I look forward to ...I also notice that Alistair is always happier when he wakes up and see me there ...coz during weekdays I would have to get up early and leave the poor mite on his own ...today was great ...both of us had a lie in, followed by some leisure time watching the DVD (its was Finding Nemo again!) before we went downstair to look for nenek and adik ....

I am cherishing the moments that I have with the boys ..I know my time is up ...their mummy is coming back soon, and very soon the equation will change ...

Team work ...

We had a faculty workshop yesterday ...the agenda was to set up the faculty's target bla bla bla ...and it was in the spirit of involving internal stakeholders i.e. staffs and students ...KPI etc etc ....unfortunately out of 40 people only 14-16 showed up ...the rest had other plans, functions and workshops to attend as well ..so, that means that those who were present had to work in a really small group!

Small, we maybe, but we are damn efficient hahahaha...there were only 3 people in my team ...Doc M, Moi Elena and myself ...but we finished out tasks so much earlier than other people ...the secret: teamwork, and work smart hehehehe ....it was kinda fun for the three of us ...we even have time to browse the internet while waiting for the other groups to finish their part ...but most importantly, what we did meet the requirements!

Tea lady

This was taken in PLSU last week ...we were busy rehearsing for our play that we didn't even go down to the dining area for our coffee break ....luckily we had these two nice ladies ...they brought the coffee up for us ...great teamwork ....that night we finished rehearsal at 3am!!!

In a way, I had fun last week - I like the people who are in my group - and the networking ..I just dislike the fact that I was inundated with lectures, assignments, notes to read, and all other boring stuffs, basic accommodation, and being secluded from friends and family....but it is over - for now ....and I have managed to survive the ordeals ....

playing with torchlights

I bought a torchlight a week ago ...just part of my preparation for my one week of seclusion in PLSU ...and I got a small one for free ...to cut the story short, when I got home that night, the boys were not in a good mood ...both were slightly feverish ..and started to wail in a really loud voice ...my solution: gave them a torchlight each ...and they love it!!!

and dad took out his super-big torch light ...the one that we used when going back to our kampung :-)

and adik then decided that he want the bright yellow torch light as well ....hehehehe

both of them had fun playing with the torchlight ...and now mum had to hide those torchlight in her wardrobe to prevent them playing with them ...no more spare batteries available for the torchlight (according to my mum!) ...and she is saving them for emergencies i.e. blackouts!

ice cream

Last weekend was very hot ..we were watching Finding Nemo for the hundredth time...when suddenly we heard the sound of the ice-cream man on his motorcycle passing by our house ....i went and got us an ice-cream cone with double scoop of strawberry ice-cream each ...Al did not know how to eat it at first! hahaha the poor boy usually had his cream in a cup ...but he really enjoyed his portion!

 

Adik, on the other hand, was oblivious to the ice-cream ...he only has his eyes fixed on his toy and on the tv screen ...hehehehe ...

and, looking through my photo folders, I found this photo of Al enjoying his cream ...this was taken in July 2009 - a few days before we took him back with us to Kuching. How time flies huh...

a tough little birdie

Last Saturday, I was online ...reading some articles for my paper ..when I heard a big thud ...at first, I thought one of my nephews must have fallen down ..but dad said the sound came from outside ..all of us, including the little ones, went to the front door to investigate ...and, to our surprise, this is what we saw ...

There was a bird - nice green colour - laying on the cement floor of the car porch ..and some pools of blood ...we assumed that it flew straight to our window and fell ..hence, the loud thud that I heard before ..I wanted to go out to take a clearer shot at the poor little birdie but dad said that I should leave it as it is ...he said it will be ok in a few minutes ...which I (and my mum) seriously doubted! But he's the boss ...so we leave the birdie as it is ....about 45 mins later, this is what I saw ...

Lo and behold, the birdie was sitting up!!! But still unable to move much ...I looked at it again from time to time and it continued to improve ...and it flew out of on its own about 4 hours after it fell down ..such a miracle, considering how bad it looked at first! Such a tough little birdie ....

This is actually Alistair - taken on Christmas day 2007 ...and he was about 5 months old then ....and was the person who stole the limelight that Christmas ...

 
and this is the first time I met him ...he was just one month old at the time ...how time flies!!! Now he had grown up and can be such a naughty boy ...and knows how to make angry faces just like me ...he is imitating me!!! Not sure if I am flattered by that :-)
